The Old Miners Hall and Spa Lodge is a fantastic boutique retreat nestled in the the hamlet of Burnside on the outskirts of Stanhope overlooking a babbling stream with spectacular uninterrupted views of the North Pennines.
We specialise in occasion celebration, luxury short breaks from 4 to 12 persons as well as luxury week long breaks for larger groups of family and friends to get together relax, unwind and enjoy.
EntranceKick off your muddy boots in the Boot Room and enter through a contemporary floor to ceiling glass door into the large open hallway with grey limestone flagged floor and white washed walls.

Living SpaceEnter the large living area with high ceilings and amazing original exposed stone fireplace with crackling log burner.
Designer furniture and interiors adorn the room creating a very luxurious finish. Enormous sumptuous sofas ensure ample seating so guests can enjoy afternoons and cosy evenings complete with a Smart 52 inch TV and Sonos sound system. |
Kitchen and EatingThe kitchen is at the heart of The Old Miners Hall.
A chefs dream and perfect entertaining space which boasts a feature island with solid oak worktop, Farrow and Ball painted oak units, Neff induction hob and wine chiller for those all essential bottles of fizz. You will find everything you need to make your afternoon cream teas, pizza night or Sunday Roast possible. A cooking wall houses Neff double oven, Neff integrated microwave and steam oven. Complete with large AEG fridge, Bosch dishwasher, integrated freezer, treble sink and granite worktops it boasts all the mod-cons you’ll need to dine to impress! This luxurious kitchen is the ultimate balance of traditional and contemporary. |

DiningAdjacent to the kitchen space is an enormous rustic dinning table which seats up to 12 persons.
The open plan kitchen dinning area has its own coffee station which doubles up as a drinks bar with its own Nespresso machine, Freud of London cafetiere and ice buckets. The feature exposed original sandstone fireplace and grey flagstone floors creates a wonderful focal point in this amazing space. |

There is a utility area next to the kitchen with Bosch washer and dryer, recycling bins.

CloakroomThere is also a cloakroom with back to wall Italian designer toilet, hand basin, ornate hand carved gold mirror and artwork.

SleepingAn impressive original stone staircase leads from the ground floor to five gorgeous boutique chic bedrooms, split over two floors.
All bedrooms include designer grey velvet headboards, pure wool Harris tweed curtains, bespoke furniture made by our local cabinet maker, original artwork from local artist Anna Johnson and decorated with neutral en-trend tones. Each room also has a hotel quality Hypnos bed, Sheridan crisp white bedding, throws, spa robes and towels. Bedroom 1 boasts a Super king bed (zip and link converting into twins) Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed Bedroom 3 has a king sized bed and en suite Bedroom 4 has a king sized bed and en suite Bedroom 5 has a king sized bed and en suite All en-suites include a shower, toilet and wash basin with a heated towel rail to keep your white towels fluffy and warm! |

Outside Spa LodgeYou have your very own Spa Lodge approximately 10 metres from your cottage behind a privacy screen. The Spa lodge is a bespoke Keopps Log cabin with contemporary bi-fold aluminium doors housing a 5 seater hot tub with hanging area for robes.
Designer Bramblecrest outdoor seating with dinning table enables guests to sit and soak up the sun. We have recently installed a granite outdoor fireplace which doubles up as a BBQ. So whether your toasting marshmallows, eating al fresco or watching your outdoor fireplace whilst soaking in your hot tub. The facilities are available 365 days a year from 6am-10pm...just perfect. |
